这一句其实你翻译得很不错（红色部分），但是前半句倒是有一些翻译错误的点，‘有些过度’这个意思没表述出来。
词组，a parallel situation：一种类似的情况、情形。
         preserve the health of game：我在这里意译为维持生物链平衡~
这里的game可能和上文有关联，所以你没有翻译成“繁衍”是情有可原的，但是你领悟的意思很对！！
         the physically weak：体弱的
         其中，somewhat over worded 的翻译求解释~
