昨天晚上，海豚心血来潮，出了一个5分钟内做完一篇文章的帖子，同学还是有一些疑问，所以海豚今天进行第二篇文章的直播。

好的，现在开始我们的第二篇文章，我会把题目贴出来的，大家跟着帖子走就可以了，不用再去翻书。

主要的不是考大家，而是教大家做题的方法，希望大家能够举一反三。

这是原文，一共四段，我们一起来看一下

It used to be so straightforward. A team of researchers working together in the laboratory would submit the results of their research to a journal. A journal editor would then remove the authors’ names and affiliations from the paper and send it to their peers for review. Depending on the comments received, the editor would accept the paper for publication or decline it. Copyright rested with the journal publisher, and researchers seeking knowledge of the results would have to subscribe to the journal.

No longer. The Internet – and pressure from funding agencies, who are questioning why commercial publishers are making money from government-funded research by restricting access to it – is making access to scientific results a reality. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has just issued a report describing the far-reaching consequences of this. The report, by John Houghton of Victoria University in Australia and Graham Vickery of the OECD, makes heavy reading for publishers who have, so far, made handsome profits. But it goes further than that. It signals a change in what has, until now, been a key element of scientific endeavor.

The value of knowledge and the return on the public investment in research depends, in part, upon wide distribution and ready access. It is big business. In America, the core scientific publishing market is estimated at between $7 billion and $11 billion. The International Association of Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishers says that there are more than 2,000 publishers worldwide specializing in these subjects. They publish more than 1.2 million articles each year in some 16,000 journals.

This is now changing. According to the OECD report, some 75% of scholarly journals are now online. Entirely new business models are emerging; three main ones were identified by the report’s authors. There is the so-called big deal, where institutional subscribers pay for access to a collection of online journal titles through site-licensing agreements. There is open-access publishing, typically supported by asking the author (or his employer) to pay for the paper to be published. Finally, there are open-access archives, where organizations such as universities or international laboratories support institutional repositories. Other models exist that are hybrids of these three, such as delayed open-access, where journals allow only subscribers to read a paper for the first six months, before making it freely available to everyone who wishes to see it. All this could change the traditional form of the peer-review process, at least for the publication of papers.

这一段，第一句，就是No longer，“不再”，是不是和上一段的used to be产生了一个时间上的对比？说明现在在这里开始转折，开始说新事物了？
好，看第二句，两个破折号中间的内容暂时不读，因为两个破折号是什么意思？是不是和中文里的作用是一样的？相当于括号啊？是解释啊？
好，把这一句的主干单独拿出来The Internet is making access to scientific results a reality.
是不是这一句就是这一段的主题啊？
后面提到了一个权威的机构，The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) ，是不是就是要拿这个机构的一些具体事例来证明我们这一段的主题句啊？
那后面的证明就暂时不看了。记住这个机构，以免后面要问到的时候你不记得在哪里出现过了。

这一段，放眼望过去，是不是暂时不说主题句是哪一个，马上就可以看出哪些内容是不需要看的？In America，这是一个具体的例子了，对不对？后面的内容都是数字啊之类的，是不是在距离论证？那么In America后面的内容，我们就都不看了，记住是在美国发生的例子就行了，如果后面问起来美国的例子，再回头来看好了。
现在看开头的两句话，是不是就是这一段的主题了啊？但是句子有点复杂，我们把主要部分挑出来。其实最重要的还是 big business对不对啊？因为后面都是在说收益的嘛。

但是不是APEC哦
APEC全称是亚洲太平洋经济合作组织，简称亚太经合组织
Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation

在这里不用管它到底是哪个组织，知道是一个权威的就行了

我们回原文去看看。
这一段的主题句是什么？
No longer. The Internet is making access to scientific results a reality.

原句是这样的：No longer. The Internet – and pressure from funding agencies, who are questioning why commercial publishers are making money from government-funded research by restricting access to it – is making access to scientific results a reality.
海豚不知道是不是自己手上拿到的这个真题有问题，反正总觉得这一段的破折号怪怪的哈。
暂时不管这个，不管主语是哪个，看看主题的主要动作是什么：使公开科研成果成为现实（看上面划的横线应该可以看得出来意思吧？）
那就是说和以前不一样了，这篇文章一直在说和以前不一样了。
看选项
A，criticizes，主题句里有这样的意思吗？没有吧？
B，introduces，原文离提到这个report的时候有这样一句The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has just issued a report describing the far-reaching consequences of this.this是什么啊？是说我们的主题句“making access to scientific results a reality”吧？那就不是题目的“introduces an effective means of publication”了吧？
C，upsets？烦乱的,不高兴？
D，benefits scientific research ，文中有这样的意思吗？没有吧？收益，这个好像在文章当中有提过很多钱，但是不是在这里提的吧？

ABD都不对，C呢？我们不确定，upset还有什么意思？颠覆,推翻，知道有这个意思的话，就知道该选C了吧？因为一直再说和传统的不一样，和以前的不一样了。

所以从这一题，我们可以看出来，在考点的地方是不会有很难的词的，但是很灵活，大家的单词，一定要背清楚了，别稀里糊涂的哦~

有人可能会选A，因为A在原文中出现过，是吧？
但是，A的内容并不是在我们的主题句里的，它都不是我们的主题，即使原文出现过，又怎样呢？凭什么让我们选它呢？是吧？它没有资格成为答案。

那么敢不敢立刻就选A呢？
看一下其他的选项好了
B，给科研工作者带来巨大的利润？没有提到是给scientific researchers带来的吧？
C，这个内容，根本就没有见过，对不对？
D，促进在科研上的公共投资？“ investment in scientific research”这一句我们貌似见过，对不对？
但是，和上一题一样，这个内容并没有出现在我们的主题的主题内容里。它在第三段。它不是主要矛盾的主要部分，对不对？
那么还选它吗？当然不选。
答案是A

要求作者付钱，付什么的钱？发表文章要的钱。就是传说中的版面费。好了，不管你知不知道版面费这个东西。你知道这是要交钱了吧？
为了文章能够be published，所以要pay
看看A，是不是就是正解？
好，要是愿意的话，再看看其他选项也行
B，subscribe，这个词和钱有关的解释，应该是“捐献”，能算得上是捐献吗？
C， use it freely，这里没有提到吧？
D，这里也没有提到
