Goodbye again, Cambridge!
translated by Bill Conan
Slowly, I’m leaving,
just like my gentle coming.
I wave my hands,
saying bye to clouds up the west ceiling.
Golden willows by the river side,
are brides in the sunset.
Halo above the ripples,
shakes from the inside.
Float grass in soft mud,
At the bottom, they are freshly rocked.
Soaking up in Cambridge’s soft waves,
I’d be a water leaf with glad.
That pool under elm arbour,
Not a spring, but a rainbow.
Hiding between the float weeds,
where colorful dreams grow.
Catch a dream?
Drive a long paddle, heading for green bloom.
Stuff the ship with star lights,
Sing in the light beam.
Yet, I can’t be singing.
Tranquility is the flute of leaving.
Insects stay quite for me also,
Silence is Cambridge of today’s evening.
Silently, I’m leaving,
just like my quite coming.
I wave my sleeves,
not taking a piece of cloud at the ceiling.
轻轻的我走了,正如我轻轻的来;
那河畔的金柳,是夕阳中的新娘;
软泥上的青荇,油油的在水底招摇;
但我不能放歌,悄悄是别离的笙箫;
悄悄的我走了,正如我悄悄的来;
