首先我查阅了http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Locus_of_control 该页面指出这个概念是Rotter于1954年发展的，但是没有给出处。
然后我去查了Rotter(1954)的文献，发现有这么一本书：
Rotter, J. B. (1954), Social Learning and Clinical Psychology, New York: Prentice-Hall.
找一本书太困难了，我决定再看看二次引用。随便选几句如下：

随便选了3条，可以看出，Rotter的“Social Learning and Clinical Psychology”至少是提到了控制点的内涵，但没有正式使用“locus of control”的字样。
我决定再跑回Rotter(1966)的“Generalized expectancies for internal versus external control of reinforcement”看看，发现通篇文章没有提到“locus of control”，只有在引用文献里提到了：
Adams-Webber, J. Perceived locus of control of moral sanctions. Unpublished master's thesis, Ohio State University, 1963.
我也不查这个硕士论文的内容了。
其实结论我觉得很简单。控制点理论的内容的确是由Rotter提出并发展的，但是后人没有采用他用的术语，而是用了Heider(1958)的术语。实际上我们还是应该把这个理论的发现权归于Rotter。
