Retrospection of the Implication of Rorty’s Lectures at Fudan University

The major themes of Richard Rorty’s lectures at Fudan University were “world government” and “critique of postmodernism”. What was Rorty’s motive in his speaking in advocacy of a world government? Why did he criticize postmodernism? In this paper I will reflect on the two problems and try to find their connection.
